| The CQBL-1 only has one power setting for the IR laser. Its too bright. I cant see much of the hogs body behind the bloom. I have used film negatives in front of the laser to reduce the bloom and its been working, but its a gimmicky setup. Is there sometimes of housing or a filter I can add to it like the PEQ2A has? |

Questions!
What range are you having these issues? What kind of NVD are you using? What kind of light environment? The distance to target, your system gain, and the background light levels will all affect perceived brightness. Some ideas to consider: Extend your engagement distances a little bit so bloom is less of a factor. If your NVD has variable gain, turn that down a little bit. If you're hunting on moonless nights, beneath a thick canopy, or otherwise in extremely low light areas, some additional IR illumination can add some extea light to the scene and cut down on perceived blooming. |
| Well, I'll experiment again. The distance was around 30-50 yds. My buddy with the PEQ had a nice looking dot with the filter on. Mine was like blam bright. My PVS14 was probably on lower power. I thought I tried the dot with my surefire M1 and it was still bright. Not sure turning the gain or adding the IR light will help too much. |

Adding an IR light will make a big difference but the M1 may not have enough ass to get it done. Try it with a Vampire or Torch Pro. |

Quick somebody make a filter system for this laser so I can justify buying one already done!!! Care to elaborate? hard base(aluminum), single/dual filter, low profile(5/32"), removable(allen wrench).. major pain in the ass/f^ck up's/reordering(more cost's), headaches, to accomplish.. unknown if I'd repeat. maybe a pic or two to come.. I kind of like tinkering on sh!t!!!!... for my own reasons thou.. |

So, you stated its already been done but come up with this home made gimmick of a filter post? |

So did you fasten it into the screws that appear to be on the front of the sight but appear to be covered with waterproof something ? no. tapped into the housing to secure it. the cqbl itself remain's untouched this way. no knowledge on anything within the housing that could cause damage(warranty issue wise) when backed out, so it was just left it alone. if someone could find that out, it would become very easy for anyone to make a template and mount to attach any filters. |

So, you stated its already been done but come up with this home made gimmick of a filter post? yeah maybe it has been a long week. she may be a homemade one, but it's mounted, it works, and so "yes" a filter does exist. although i'm sure a mass produced slip on rubber/plastic cover is coming soon.(hint, hint for any entrepreneurs with 3d printing/ milling machinery) as mine needed to be tapped in, I don't think anyone else would really want to go this route. one slip of a drill and I take it the warranty would be shot. |
