| Can any one share any info on the Beretta CX4 Storm. I just got one (92/9mm) and know very little about it. I've heard there was a problem with the mags falling out. Is there a fix to this? |
|
They share mags with Beretta's pistol lines, so yes, there are "hi-cap" options. The trigger on them sucks...but wears in over time. If you want to buy an out-of-the-box pistol-caliber carbine, I can't think of a better choice. (unless you want to try to dig up an HK94 or something for 3-4 grand) Mine's seen maybe about 500-1000 rounds and is very reliable. Get the rail kit and a cheap red-dot for plinking fun. |

Yep, mags falling out was a problem with the earlier ones. There are some "fixes" listed online, but I haven't had a problem with mine either. Mine has been very reliable, and yes, it has a bit of a mushy trigger. However, it is not a target rifle, and the mushy trigger is not that big of a deal. Doc |
The mag thing is old and rare, but it was related to 3 issues, first was the mag release springs, if you have this issue you can mod it by following THIS POST HERE number 2 was that the little metal tab on the mag release wears.... due to its design you can disassemble it and pop the tab then rotate it 180 degrees and re install.... it is this little metal tab![]() Then there may be the issue of a leftie using a right hand config and them accidently pressing the mag release (or visa versa). I have over 3k rounds thru mine with out a issue, but as with anything, your result may vary. I think the CX4 is my favorite gun I own, dependable, cheapish to shoot, accurate, FUN, and it just feels natrual to shoulder. My happy CX4, it ia actually a PX4 40S&W version.... good with 17 round mags. |
| I have a CX4 that takes Beretta 96 mags. I'm having problems with some of my mags (factory 11 rd) not locking the bolt open. Thinking that my mag springs might be weak I tried swapping out the spring and follower with mags that work. The bolt still won't lock back so I think the problem is the mag bodies(6 out of 25), the mag release button, or the bolt stop. |
| I bought an early storm and did have problems with the mags falling out. It was not with any beretta or mecgar mags though. Just cheaper ones and Asian military ones. I epoxied an aluminum shim to the other side of the mag itself and they are fine now. Do not buy any no name 30 rounders. They have cheap followers and are sh!+. I couldn't complain to beretta about my problem as the factory mags worked ok. The magwell is just a hair bigger than the pistol I suppose. |
