You mean the pistol,correct?
IMHO/E they are solidly built shooters. The roller locked breach is pretty tough. The 7.62 X 25mm is a flat shooting pistol round with excellent penetration.

They are good pistols....lots of penetration on the round but I dont know how much stopping power you'd get out of it...I had a buddy who was selling a bunch of them years ago...wish I would have bought one..

Had a CZ-75 when I first got out of the military....nice pistol too...

I picked one of these up yesterday for $150

Its in excellent condition, with all matching numbers.

I thought it seemed like a good deal, although I hadent heard much about these guns other than they were good and solid shooters.

Thanks guys

I have 3..
ballistics near .30 carbine- (which is also similar to .223) great accuracy for out to 100y- will out penetrate a .357 mag -light vests- car doors- steel/kevlar helmet etc.
The last cheap surplus ammo- .10 rd.   Don't dry fire it or you can break the firing pin- other than that, I LOVE them!

Great weapons, powerfull little rd.  -  I like mine!  -  Downside = Weak factory firing pin, (might want to replace w/forged steel firing pin) & Decocker can have worn or weak parts causing an accidental discharge when lever is used, (keep it pointed in a safe direction when using the decocking lever) & I have never figured how to field strip one easily!  Seem to need 3 hands for this pistol  Might want to google "CZ 52 decocker" and read-up on the past problems with them.  For the price, they are worth owning if you can live with or fix a few flaws.  JMHO

You did good.

I LOVE my CZ-52. So much that I almost dropped the $170 for the one at the local shop that had custom wood grips. One fine pistol there, but I already have one and I wanted a couple of rifles I'd been eyeing for a while.

they are good guns.
just don't dry fire, and don't use the decocker.
dry firing will break the firing pin
the decocker is poorly designed, if used may fire the pistol.

some essential upgrades are hardened rollers and tool steel firing pin.

eta: here is a good link to learn more about this pistol

The CZ has a really cool basic mechanism design. I have never heard anyone say theirs is anything but accurate. With good, modern consistent ammo, you will be shocked at how accurate it can be. If you can deal with dinky sights and the very odd ergos, it's possible to get sub-2"/25 yd groups. As previously stated the 7.62 Tok is a hot rod, and will T-'n-T any medium varmint (javelina, coyote, feral dog, etc.) you hit. I have personally raked a coydog end-to-end at nearly 50 yds.

Everything else stated here about the safety, mag release, grip angle, firing pin weakness, etc. is true. Personally, I do not believe it would have served well in combat. Both the Tokarev and Makarov pistols are much more rugged (CZ locking mechanism notwithstanding).

It surprises me that nobody has revisited the roller lock concept for high-pressure pistol rounds, or that the Czechs haven't looked at a modern roller-locked platform –– better sights, trigger, safety, etc. –– for the commercial market either in this cartridge, 9x23 or perhaps .30 M1. I would definitely be a customer.

Maybe I'm a weenie, but as much as I love mine, I find it uncomfortable to shoot for very long without a glove or a couple of band-aids on my trigger finger. Not a lot of recoil, but the odd grip and trigger reach cause my finger to engage the trigger in such a way that I really feel the trigger's sharp edge. By the time I've gone through a box, I'm done. (Conversely I can shoot hardball through my 1911 all day, stopping only when my eyes are worn out.)

Finally, speaking of the 7.62 Tok cartridge, there are some pistol clubs that don't permit it owing to the bashing it can give the backstop –– my local range prohibits it. (You can buy replacement barrels that let you shoot 9x19, if you are really stuck). A pity, as I can tell you the sturm und drang from the muzzle blast is a real treat. You will absolutely be able to call your shot as the sights are backlit with a grapefruit-sized fireball at trigger break! Further, there is a .22 wildcat of this round (http://www.reedsammo.com/Page.html) that looks interesting –– hotter than Five Seven.

Thanks guys, I still haven't gotten to take it out shooting yet.

Its bugging the hell out of me, went to the range today and took a handful of guns with me but that wasn't one of them.

I ordered some ammo from AIM yesterday, so I'm gonna have to wait it out a few more days. I even checked my local fun shops to see if they had a box or two so I could just get a taste

From everything you guys said, these are great guns. Cant wait to test her out even more after some of the testimonials.

Thanks again guys, Jeff
