I know that Imbel is considered California legal, but how about others, i.e. DSA, Entreprise, Coonan? And what makes one legal and another not? |
| As I understand it it isn't the reciever but what is attached to it. DSA makes a Ca. FAL so therefore one is led to believe that theres is legal. The CA. FAL must have a 10 round non detachable magazine, or a fixed 10 round magazine. all of the kits or post dan Fal's must have x number of USA made parts. I know I am not answering your questions with alot of detail but maybe enough to get you going in the right direction. Go to www.falfiles.com and they will have more specific info for you. |

It also helps that your receiver, either Coonan, Hesse, WAC, Entreprise, Imbel, etc....does NOT say "FAL" written on there anywhere. As the FAL is banned by name, FAL (whether or not FN is in front). You should have have any trouble transfering any receiver, from most dealers, so long as the three letters (FAL) are not present. This, I was told, from Lawrence at Entreprise Arms.....but then again, anyone can be wrong! After that....either no pistol grip be attached, or modify it to a fixed 10rd/stripper clip fed rifle. Either one sucks..... Paul |
