Someone told me that Camillus was bought out
a while back. By a foreign company. Then closed up!
I was just on a page: Camillus
Says Camillus will be at the Shot show 2010
What do you know about any of this!
Thanks!

Someone around here has one of the new production knives.  They even had a side by side with the old version.  I can't remember what they thought of it.

Camillus had a crippling UAW strike, settled that, then promptly went under in early 2007.

The name and intel. prop. was bought and the foreign made knives (which were part of the UAW kerfuffle) are coming back into the US.

Expect to see more designs in 2010.

ETA: Here is the thread from earlier this year.

It was me.

Here is the original post: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=4&t=282626

Here's where to get one: Camillus Knives

I paid a little less for mine.  It seems pretty much the same as the original. Using the thumb disc still takes getting used to, but I would say that about the original or new production.
