Powers that be decided to return it to the standard 3-day format. It has been 3 days for years and years and then they swapped to the week-long format about 4 years ago and did that for 3 years. Last year, presuably due to fuel costs and the economy, attendance was down. The Board of Directors decided to instead run it as a 3 day match this year, maybe increasing attendance because folks wouldn't have to take off work as long. Sounded like a good idea to me, given the current situation. It also allows folks to spend less on lodging, meals, etc on the match. I've been attending only half of the match anyway when I go. In the weeklong format, we've run it to have hunter and unlimited at one end of the week and light and heavy at the other end. I can only afford to burn vacation for half so this year i'll be able to shoot two classes, hunter and heavy. -David Edgewood, NM |

I'm only a few hours from Raton so that does make it easier. It's a tough balancing act for everyone these days and you are not going to make all happy. Really look forward to it
