I have been wanting to get a C&R license for years, but I have a problem. Is it possible to have a license at an address that you don't actually reside at? Its my parents house. I don't live there, but my guns do. I store all my guns, except one that I carry, at my parents house. The reason I do that is because I rent, and I have probably moved about 3 times in the last 5 years. I'm wondering because 01 FFL's basically do the same thing. They don't live at their shop where all the guns are, so that tells me its the location that is licensed, not just the person. Can I do this or would I be violating some law that says my guns and I have to be at the same residence in order to have a C&R?
Thanks.

yes it's legal.  IIRC the bound book has to be with the firearms.  it would also be advisable to have a separate safe for them.   go to the ATF website.  i remember them answering a similar question in their FAQ section.

ETA: it would probably be advisable to get permision from your parents in writing, have it notorized, and keep it in your bound book/safe.
