For some reason I want one. I think .410 20 gauge. I'll consider pistol calibers as well. Form 1 and plans or is anyone making one nowadays?

I think a single shot integral 32acp or 9mm would be cool. And do it in a modern aluminium cane.

If I was going to do this, and I have thought long and hard about it, there's about enough room in that aluminum cane tube to put in a pretty decent clone of a Welrod--

Four rounds are better than one.

Work it with the right cane and you just might be able to do a semi auto.

Think about a tube-fed rimfire setup stuffed in one...

Or even mag fed w/o the mag in most of the time. Make a fancy dust cover or something.

I have been thinking of building a cane gun as well. I have had the chance to look several over and am working on a more modern design of the Dumonthier cane gun. It was a breach loading .410. The Remington cane guns are loaded by unscrewing the barrel. Here is a link to an informative article on the Dumonthier:

and here is one to the Remington.

Please let us know if you decide to build.

With the thick outside diameter of the aluminum canes it might be possible to have a 5 shot 38 spl revolver in it.

I took the plunge today and sent off a Form 1 for a cane gun. I am going to build a hinged breech with a double action only trigger. The trigger will fold up into the cane. To fire it, fold the trigger down, I will use an inertia firing pin, it will be in .410. Once I get the approved form 1 back, I will start a new thread.

Sent 4 other form 1s off today, my stamp collection just keeps growing.
