CannonFuse.com
ETA: Fuse can be shipped by USPS Parcel Post Ground without a HAZMAT fee. ETA²: We will need fire & smoke pics of said cannon when fuse arrives. |

A boat needs a cannon!
Requisite cannon lore... In the days of sail, merchant ships were often required by their underwriters to carry a minimum compliment of weapons, to defend the vessel and cargo if necessary against seizure by pirates or (more likely) vessels of hostile nations. Otherwise, the ship and its cargo would not be insured. These "insurance guns" as they were called by their manufacturers, were relatively small, plain, and inexpensive compared to the elaborate arsenals of large naval ships. But they were just as serviceable and very capable of inflicting enough damage and/or casualties to dissuade an attacking vessel. Can you imagine if your auto insurance required a firearm to be carried to fend off carjackers?

To you guys in the south and mid west...make friends with your local fireworks dealer. I used to do alot of business in Indiana and was a regular cutomer of Shelton's FW. Got to the point that I was buying near 700+ every six weeks (I tended to get buy one get 1.5 free on most items). Any way, I went in one day looking for fuse, and was offered the tag end of a spool for dirt cheap (read pennies a foot) for about 300 feet of fuse.
Again...make friend with the suppliers RLS |
