[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Case prep order?

I am reloading several hundred 223's. I have cleaned the cases and swaged the primer pockets. Does it make any difference whether you size the cases first then trim to length or trim then size? thanks for the advice.

Definitely size before you trim. Sizing will make them "grow"

Resize, THEN trim. A must.

My case prep order, tumble clean, lube and size, tumble lube off, remove primer crimp, uniform primer pockets, trim and debur.

Ready to load.

Sounds like some remedial work on reloading is in order. Find a good book and actually read it! ABC's of Reloading comes to mind.

Home from the range with my brass , these are my steps:

inspect fired brass and trash bad ones
dump in bucket of soapy warm water for an hour
rinse
Dry
lube with unique case lube
Deprime and full case size
Run in thumblers tumbler wth SS media
Dry
Trim and champher/deburr
Every case checked in case guage and inspected again
Prime and inspect
Powder and inspect
Seat bullet and OAL checked
inspect loads
Label and store
Go to the range.
Repeat
