| Anyone have a lyman 450 sizer/luber I have a few questions about it for ya. I do not have a manual or a parts diagram so I know what is what and how all the parts should be or if anything might need to be fixed. |

Well I am not sure how all the parts are supposed to be or if they are all there not to mentin I probably should break it down to clean it since I think there is lube in there that probably isnt much good anymore. so knowing that would help a lot too.
is there an online manual you know of? or online parts diagram? |

well so far the sizing die is stuck in it due to the really old lube, ideas on how to get it out?
correction i got it out but boy talk about filthy, probably have to strip it down and fully clean it before actually using Ok I think I have it mostly tore down. Now to clean it. can I heat the sizer gently and carefully to melt the old lube to get it out so I can clean it? I think I am going to take pics and suck to make a thread on rebuilding one of these. |

Disassemble what you can of the press (remove linkage, take out the pressure nut). Get a yard sale pot big enough to hold it. Put it in the pot and boil it. Skim the melted lube off the water surface and then remove the press and wipe it down. It'll come out clean as a whistle.
ETA: I just did this very thing to a Lyman 450 that I picked up last Saturday. |
