| Can the FAL experts please tell me how not to get screwed with a CAI FAL? What are the important things to look for? |

Look for the word IMBEL on the reciever, don't pay more than $750-$800 and you'll come out ok.
Join up at the FAL Files and search for the best info. The search capabilities of that forum are topnotch and there is no archiving of threads so it's all there and easy to find. |

+1 on what Will said.
If it's a thumbhole, It might have an Imbel receiver partially converted to inch configuration. I just bought just a like receiver for $450 several months ago. Close to the going rate for an Imbel receiver. That's not a bad price. Where you'll get into extra money is if you try to convert the rifle back to standard configuration. The thumbhole versions were allowed to keep most of the evil import parts. If you convert it back, you'll have to swap out enough parts to make it 922r compliant. Could run into several hundred additional dollars. While US made If it's inch cut however, you can use both inch and metric mags. How does it shoot? |
