Has anyone here run a PRI gas buster charging handle on their suppressed AR? Does it get rid of alot of the blowback into the shooters face caused by the suppressor?

I use a pri gasbuster whenever I have the suppressor on.
It seems to vent most of the blow back to the right of my face when shooting.
The standard charging handle lets the gas leak out both sides and into my face.
If you don't want to shell out the $90 you can seal your standard handle with silicon sealant.

Thanks for the info.

I tried one and found it only remedied the problem slightly with a 16" barrel. Not worth the cost per function for me. YMMV.

I like my PRI charging handle, it helps with the gas, and i like it better than the standard charging handle.

I've used my .223 can for years and never felt the need for the gas buster handle.

I should have added I am using a 10.5" SBR and it makes a world of difference.

The 10.5 doesnt have much in the way of "gas face". It is really a problem with the 16" barrel with a carbine gas system.

Black silicone sealant. Apply it and when dry, simply take a razor and break the seal to the upper.

I am a lefty and have heard that it blows in that direction.  If you are a righty I believe it works well.

kcol is correct, it does vent to the right, it's not a friend of the lefty shooters.  I thought about getting a PRI, but realized I would want one for every AR.  I dont like the math of 9 x PRI GB CH.  So I did the gas vent mod using a drill, decent hitachi bit (size escapes me at present) and a steady hand.  I drilled and made a mouse hole at about a 60-75 degree angle that blows the gass out the right side since I'm right handed.  I'll post a how to and pictures when I get home tonight or tomorrow as time allows.  I found a how to on the internet, but can't remember where I found it.  Someone may know what I'm talking about a post a link to it.

It does help, but it doesn't completely fix it.  I did notice a decent decrease in blow back into my face/eye(s).  It's bearable to go through a long shooting session now, as opposed to before where 2-3 mags and my eye was on fire (sensitive eyes).

This is speculation - but:  I assume with the decrease in pressure out the rear - the silicon sealant would last much longer if not eliminating the need to re-apply.  I assume at this point that the two methods combined (mouse hole & sealant) would completely alleviate back pressure for right handed shooters.  As for leftys, I think Stag makes a charging handle that is reversed?  If so you could do the mouse hole on the left side pointing gas out of your face.  This combined with a left handed upper, I believe would make left handed suppressed shooting a joy rather than a pain.

As promised & requested:

Use a 3/32 drill bit (I used a hitachi carbide)

Bent paperclip to simulate angle of attack.
