I have always wished I had a borescope, but never could fit one in the budget. I have been eyeing the Lyman one hitting the market with anticipation that I may be able to swing it, but on a whim took a look on ebay to see what else was out there.

I found This

Claims to be 1040 on the PC, it also will run on Android but not iphone, comes with a 90 degree mirror that threads on the tip, as well as a little spring hook for retrieving things.

loading the software was a pain, and while the lighting is adjustable, it requires a little manipulation and shading to get a good image.

It's no Hawkeye, but for the curious on a low budget, $10.19 shipped, I think it's worth it. You definitely can see inside your barrel.

It will go down a .22 barrel, but not with the 90 degree mirror. The photo is without the mirror, taken on my laptop. The barrel is one I replaced on one of my .308's and has been laying under my bench for years. I was always curious how bad it looked....

LOL,, for $10 you can't beat that! looks like you have some pitting developing in there. pics aren't tht bad either.

I think an axial look is more useful most of the time, certainly for a quick look at the bore condition.

I need just a camera I can adapt to my scope.

The price is almost unbelievable.

Now that I've played around with it, I think axial is about all that will be usable.

The focal point appears to be an inch or so ahead of the camera, rendering the side view against the bore useless with the 90 degree mirror.

You can get a pretty decent view down the tube though, especially for $!0

I have been using a similar USB borescope. I wrote it up and posted pics and video on my website:

The pic/video quality is not great but is fine for doing a basic assessment of the barrel condition.
