Have a weird question.  I've done several Form 1's before, just not recently (couple years now).   If I remember correctly my check has always cleared inside a week or so of sending the paperwork in.  Well, mailed my paperwork for form 1 into WV and... nothing.  It's been 3 weeks and called today and they don't have anything on file.  The nice lady informed me that checks are taking as much as 8 weeks to clear now and that they have a new process?  She says it isn't effecting the wait time any, but not to worry.

Anyone else hearing the same thing, got any experience?

I've had transfers go pending before the check(s) was cashed.

Mailed in a form 4 on 10/2, check was cashed 10/7.  I think it's random and she's probably just bullshitting.  I would re-send if it's not cashed in another 2-3 weeks.

It should have been mailed to Atlanta...

Yea if you send it to WV it just takes a little longer.  They have to send it to Atlanta to cash the check then back to WV to be processed.  I did the same thing a couple weeks ago because I have an older form 1.  Took a bit longer to cash but it'll happen.

In times past, people have received their stamps back before the check cleared their bank - presumably because someone forgot to remove and deposit the check clipped/stapled to the application until it wound up on the examiner's desk.  I doubt that happens anymore, and just using CC has become much more common than checks, anyway.

Cool thanks for the info.  Glad to hear strange doesn't only happen to me.

ETA:   As I know you are all riveted to the edges of your seats awaiting the fate of my stamps...  The checks were cashed and forms are moving forward just fine.

thanks for all the help, and reassurance
