Gerber LMF II ASEK- www.gerbergear.com It come with a Safety Knife(with its own sheath) to cut seatbelts and a MOLLE compatible sheath with a built in sharpener for the knife. It has several neat features and all for under $100 bucks This is going on my Christmas list |

I considered buying that, it's a good knife, feels really tough and I like the rubber grip. The blade seems somewhat short thought, it could be maybe somewhat longer, 1 inch or so. It's a knife I'd have for certain, but there's a few other knives I'd have before it. |
I thought Santa only brought gifts to good little boys and girls. jj

I have that knife and am very happy with it. BUT i was very suprised about the sheath. I thought it was perfect because i could put in on my army gear because of the MOLLE system. The sheath is too bulky and, although it's very safe, i dont like the ammount of force that it is clipped inside the sheath. Unless you hold the sheath and pull out with the other hand you almost pull the whole damn thing off your vest. Maybe it's just me. Alot of work went into this sheath and i dont want to deter anyone from my opinion about it. The knife i think is one of the best i've had in years. perfect survival knife.. i love it. |

Not quite as good as this price, Gerber LMF II ASEK Don't know much about this blade, but I do like the steel that it uses. |
12C27 is comparible to the 440 series....I would not recommend a 440 stainless for any serious use as either a combat or general to hard utility use. Do yourself a favor and save up some more cash and get a knife that you can depend on for a lifetime. Steel Facts can be found here http://ajh-knives.com/metals.html |

It's a good knife. Holds an edge reasonable well and is one of the few Gerber knives still made in Portland. I personally prefer the original LMF. I agree with the poster that said the sheath is too bulky. It IS a safe sheath but the two straps and the tension clip are just too much IMO. |
well i got one now very nice, stout and sturdy and the sheath is very nice, it comes ready to hook your molle vest, on a belt w/ a thigh strap or around the calf with 2 straps, the sheath also has an integral carbide sharpener on the front. very good for he money.
