I have a Ceiner kit for my 19, and am wondering how I can convert it to run with my Ckeckmate suppressor. I need to find a longer barrel that can be threaded. Does anyone know if the barrel for the 17/22 version would work for this? I was planning on sending it to ADCO for threading. Thanks in advance!

| I can't help you except to say that I am amazed your Ciener kit runs at all... mine never did, and I hear a similar story from many other bitter former Ciener "customers". You might want to look into the Advantage Arms kit (which is infinitely superior in my experience) if you are going to incur significant gunsmithing costs. They may even be able to supply their kit with a pre-threaded barrel. |

I would much rather purchase a barrel that works with my current kit and have a smith thread it rather than purchase an entire new kit and then do the same. I am curious if the barrel for the Ciener 17/22 kit would work. I have not seen a 17/22 kit so I am not sure if the barrels would be interchangeable.

California may have restrictions on threaded barrels within the state, but there is no such Federal law. Interstate commerce is the domain of the Federal Goverment. Surefire is also based in California and the state did not want to permit them to sell supressors to civilians in other states. It's my understanding that Surefire took them to court over it and won (or at least had the state give in prior to a ruling). As for the longer barrel, you don't need it. If you want to, you can pick up an extra standard barrel and have it threaded, and keep the original as is. Edit: I have no personal knowledge and cannot provide sources for what I said about Surefire....I do recall having read somethign to that effect on one of the gun forums. Take it for what it's worth. |
