So the wife unit went above and beyond this year and got me an RCBS Supreme kit, and I am going to start building my bench tonight.
Super excited. Got some dies and a shell holder for the hand priming tool. Going to spend some time decapping and resizing over the weekend hopefully, just to get that down before I start priming, etc. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the knowledge that is here in the reloading forum, which has been helpful in getting me started. |

That is what I started with in about 1985 and am still using today. The kit has changed a little but its still very good equipment. You will not ever ware out that press so make sure you teach someone young to use it too. Yeah. hopefully I can pass it on to my sons when I am done. |
![]() Some inspiration for you. Remember to screw and glue all joints in your bench, and plan on attaching it to the wall studs. When you get your bench finished add it to the thread.

I bought that kit about a year ago before the panic hit. The kit is a heck of a value even at full price, and I have seen them in the $285 range recently. I like to prime off the press with the hand tool as well, it takes a little while to get the feel for hand priming but once you do you will get along well.
I already had a digital scale since I have loaded shotshells for many years. I put the brand new kit scale on Ebay and got $60 bucks for it during the height of the reloading equipment panic. That nearly paid for a couple sets of dies right there. Carbide pistol dies are the way to go. I started with 9mm loads and added .380. After a few months I stepped up to 30.06 and .223. One thing that I would like to get is the Hornaday die holders to save time when changing calibers. |
