So before I knew better I bought a CA94 and it ran like a top out of the box.  Now have broke a roller retaining plate and the HK replacement doesn't exact fit.  Please advise as to un-fuck me....

I had the same issue.  Buy an RCM bolt and never look back.

Yup, that is what ya want. If you have the funds, buy a complete RCM BCG from HKParts...... I bought the RCM BCG just to play it safe, has ran like a spider monkey after drinking 10 gallons of mountain dew for years and thousands of rounds now.............

Buy with Confidence from HKParts

Ya, if that works, it is a much cheaper fix

OP, having an extra bolt head laying around is a great idea anyhow. I have a Special Weapons SW89 and a Cohaire CA94, the SW has the bolt head that Todd put into it. Runs fine.  When that bolt head breaks, I'll buy an RCM.

Also the gun will run just fine without the roller retainer plate. The rails/trunion keep them and the locking piece operates as well. Just convenient for when you take the bolt head out so the rollers dont fall out

I would try the roller retainer spring first, then the RCM bolt head.

And as the poster above said, the retainer isn't necessary (similar to the buffer retaining pin in an AR) for the gun to run but it can be a PITA when you disassemble/reassemble the gun.

I was thinking that this was a cheap fix as well.  The roll pin hole is off center with the Cohaire bolt and this is 5% of the price of a new bolt.

I finally found the thread I heard this in.
From HKpro

It looks like either the "F" style($15) or the spring style will work.  HKparts shows two different springs so if you go that route I would call HKparts and ask.
But then again the F-style text says it fits only the bolts with the narrower slot and yours appears to be the standard width so maybe the spring is the only option.

None of those will work with the Coharie bolt.  He put the roll pin hole in a slightly different spot so it won't fit with any HK retainer.

Why don't you just buy a few of the coharie parts...

I tossed the pieces - sorry.  I modified a gen 1 plate with a dremel and successfully test fired it.  I also ordered an "F" style plate and will post whether it works once it arrives.
