Have most of the collectors from CMP been high SNs?  It would seem that they would have to being in that condition.  I can't see a rifle going through WW2 with little or no marks and all original.  Did the Greek returns contain any Collector grade Garands?

Yes, there were quite a few Collector grades that came back from Greece.  All post-war manufacture.  A WWII era Collector grade would fetch mega $$$$$.  They'd auction it off rather than sell it 'luck of the draw'.

There have been collector grades in the past.  And early numbers were found now and then.

The current crop are all late manufacture serial numbered rifles.
