I should be getting my 6933 in the next couple of months. I would like to build a clone Mk 18 Mod 0 upper for it. I have looked at the thread about the Mk18 Mod 0 and am still a little confused as to what 10.5 inch upper I should use. I was thinking about LMT, CMMG or Colt. Im leaning towards the LMT upper and SOPMOD stock. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Where can I find a Knights RIS (non free float) for this project? |

You only need the SOPMOD stock and no buffer tube. The Colt tube is the proper size. Last I checked there were two Knights RAS rails for sale on the EE. I would use the 11.5 upper that comes with your 6933. If you have to have a 10.5 inch barrel buy a LMT. For the buis use the fixed LMT or cut the carry handle that comes with the 6933. |
I agree, if you are going to buy a 6933 it seems like a lot of extra money to get a 1 inch shorter barrel. I would stick with the 11.5 |
I went through similar plans, although mine were made after having the 6933. Just the same, I went with the near complete LMT upper. Bought it without BCG or HG or charging handle, or carry handle for a very good price (source Rainier Arms) I also added the LMT BUIS, and KAC RAS. The RAS is the non-FF version and mounts up in less than 10 minutes. I have a couple SOPMOD stocks, and added one of those, a Colt BCG, PRI mil. latch CH, and TD grip, (and now sports the Magpul MIAD grip) and it was good to go. I alternately use an ACOG with folding Troy BUIS, but enjoy this set up (below 2nd pic.) best. Photos: before  and after  Your other mentions (Colt, CMMG, or other) are tough, given the Colt 10" or 10.3" bbls are as scarce as hen's teeth and the CMMG would break the "all Colt" theme.
