Anyone know where I can purchase magazines for the AR adapted to fire blanks. Colt at some point manufactured a red one but when you call them they say they have no such animal. Any help will be appreciated.

Standard mags feed blanks just fine.

They were made in the mid 60s, and are very rare, and command large prices (in the $75-125 range). If you really want one, keep an eye open on the gun auction sites. I usually see one every six months or so.

If you could adapt it to shoot live ammo the old red mags would look perfect in a purple/pink Cavalry Arms CAV15. I guess you could have a standard mag re-anodized...
