| Guys, I have a DSA STG58 Carbine and want to put a Para folding stock on it. I understand DSA has a "delivery date unknown" on their Para kits, who else has one that would satifify a discriminating buyer? Not a fix-er-upper, etc.... |
| Well mainly you need to find a lower, and a new bolt. You can get a topcover from DSA that requires no mods to the upper reciever, or you can have the "nose cut" to use the para versions. Also alot of the p-rail top covers will work with the para without modifications. So mainly you need a lower and bolt. Kaiser arms I think makes lowers and there are others. |

I just bought a Hampton Para lower from DSA (three weeks ago) with the A2 rear sight. The whole shebang: Bolt, recoil spring, lower receiver. Stock. DSA HAS THEM IN STOCK!!! Except.... They do not have any dust covers for a Para, either normal or scope mount. So I ordered mine without the cover, they gave me a discount, and I bought an ARMS dust cover from Mounting Solutions Plus. The solution presents itself. And it's very worth it. |

I ended up going with the receiver block from ACE that uses a normal lower instead of a para and it worked very well, though I had to use a AK-FX short stock instead of the socom I got from them, as it was too long on the Fal for me. I ended up swapping with the folder on my robinson. With a bolt carrier from Ace, and a dust cover I got off falfiles, it's good to go, hopefully I can get to shoot it tomorrow. |

I got a Para-folding stock and LOwer w/ internal parts from Falcon Arms yesterday...only 4 days after placing my order!!! They have a US made Carrier, Top Cover, Lower w/ HTS - you need to supply Pistol Grip, Trigger Guard, your bolt, and Safety/Selector, and rear sight. (I had all of these things) With the Falcon Kit you get 5 US parts for $425 It sound a bit pricey but it is worth it IMHO Falcon Arms Para Folding Stock w/ Lower Receiver |

I just built my PARA this past weekend... most of the parts were new DSA but the donor kit for the rest of the small parts was a Grade 3 imbel. Other then I messed up with the rear latch assembly and I am now waiting on a replacement the built went together quite well. I was on a waiting list for the PARA stock assembly and the Para Scope mount for several months but I did get them and it was worth the waite! I will post pics when I get a chance... |

Anybody know the weight increase from a fixed plastic stock config to the Para version? I'd be more interested in getting a Para kit if it didn't add the 1 to 1.5 lbs that I think it does. With a steel mag, 20 rds, the scope mount, and a scope, it's a big boy as is. |
The Para Lower and Top cover assembly does not add any weight. An example, A DSA Para Lower with internals vs Standra Stock Lower with internals = Same same. Acording to my High Tech trigger scale measurements. DSA Aluminum lowers, reduce the weight by approx. 6-8 oz. or 1/4-1/2lb. |
