I agree Tavors just look like a bullpup should, controls in the right place, and looks very ergonomic.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Tavor was going to be imported for civilian consumption

It looks a lot more "usable" than the FS2000....

They said they would but, it looked nothing like the original and this was said a few years back at one of the SHOT shows IIRC...

Barrett was going to make it domestically. They couldn't come to a liscensing agreement with IMI. Deal died a horrible flaming death.

That is just terrible

It's almost like that rumor of DSA making domestic AUGs

It makes me wonder what the failure is with these deals...

Are the US companies wanting too much of the pie or is it vice versa

I mean come on people, we just want our cool toys... leave the lawyers out of it

This makes me think of the Sig 556.
It would have been nice if Sigarms would have just gotten permission from Swissarms to make
a real US made 55X. Now we all know how their prototypes turned out. They created a piston
AR15 and slapped "SIG" on the side of it

I bet Swissarms is about as sick as most of us are with what Sig has to show...

This makes me wanna call Barrett and ask what the Hell went wrong. The Tavor would
kick the FS2000's ass and it would most definitely be cheaper.

I might even settle for one of these....

assuming they made went with an AR mag.  Nahh

***Somebody out there produce a domestic Tavor here in the US, and not the fugly tavor 2***
Do it for the children

If you build it, we will buy(unless you affix a collapsible AR stock on it)

We might be getting the actual IMI Tavor in Canada- seems that IMI wants a minimum 1000 unit order to ship, though....

Is there any legislation out there to eliminate the import ban?  Seeing as much as politicians want to globalize everything, it seems like they wouldn't prevent us from buying foreign weapons.  I mean that's not fair to foreign economies now is it?

Did anybody watch Future Weapons last night? They shot the TAVOR and it looked good

I thought it was interesting that the Tavor features many items that AFCOMMERS hates about bullpups.

Slow mag changes
Right or left ejections for shooting with the weak had or around corners
Lack of BUIS or optic sights
Four way rails for IR lasers and flashlights

The Israelis seem to use their rifles A lot and they are not worried about those issues.

Actuall it has a BUIS, and some versions have rails(two shown, but I've seen quad somewhere).  Slow mag change would be the big issue, but nothing training can't fix.  Unless I'm mistaken the mags will drop free.
