I just mailed in the F4 for my Spectre II last week and decided I want a pistol can as well. It seems like the Octane 45 HD is the can to beat right now, and it's especially attractive because of the design.
If I get it with a .578x28 thread pitch piston, I'm guessing I can pick up a Lone Wolf threaded Glock 21 barrel and be good to go. If I want to use it on a Glock 17, what do I need besides a threaded barrel, just a 1/2x28 piston, right? If I want to dabble with .300 Blackout (pick up a AAC Handi Rifle) I'd need a 5/8x24 piston as well it looks like. How would suppression be vs a 7.62 can like the Saker? Thanks for the input |

You're right in with the Glock/LWD info. Just need the threaded barrel and appropriate piston With 300BLK, you have two options. (1) buy the 5/8-24 piston and use a fixed barrel spacer or (2) buy the 5/8-24 fixed mount Saker 762 will have a tighter bore compared to the projectile, as well as larger internal volume. Both would make it quieter. Octane would also be limited to subsonic ammo only. |

| I use my Octane 45 HD on a HK45CT, G21sf & G17 it works great. I would suggest you pick up a few extra O'Rings while waiting for the stamp, as I broke one when I first got it and had to wait for them in the mail. Overall I am very happy with it, I have a SDN-6 can for my 308, 300 blk, and 5.56 so I never tried to shoot anything then pistol caliber through it. |

I've been researching both and a lot of people say just shoot "through the can" with eyes open. It appears to me (via research, I've never seen or shot either can) that they're pretty comparable, and the Octane is stronger (and full auto rated) due to materials used.
I'm going to try an Octane with stock sights before I change anything out. |

You'll just have to get used to it. |

Plenty of write-ups and YouTube videos on how to make your own. I had a dealer sell me one for $25 when I bought my first Osprey, so it was worth it for me to not worry about it. Now that I have four Ospreys/Octanes, in probably need to look into making a couple. |

I'd pay $20-25 for the SiCo one, but $40-55 just seems excessive to me. Very informative video BTW BadgerArms.
Another question after watching the video, I have both G17's and G19's I could use as 9mm hosts, but is there an advantage to using a G19 over a G17 (possibly keep more ammo subsonic?) I'd prefer to grab a LWD G17 barrel, but am open to going the G19 route if there are advantages. |

Seriously, though, the G17 gives you a little more to grab on to so I think you get better control. You aren't going to see enough of a difference in subsonic vs. supersonic in either platform to make a difference. The differences gun to gun are going to be more. Just get good 147 or 158 gr subsonic loads and they will be sub in both the platforms. |

Just don't try to put the G17 in the G19. Basically, the compact barrels work in the compact and subcompact, while the long slide/tactical barrels fit in the long slide/tactical and fullsize. |

ETA: If you like to shoot at cans or other small targets, then you'll definitely want suppressor sights. |

| I shot my 300 blk SBR with my Octane 45 while waiting on my Saker 762. It does a decent job at knocking the sound down, but the Saker is noticeably quieter than the Octane. The Octane would be a decent secondary option, but I would not want it as my primary 300 blk can. |

I think a pistol can is more useful to me right now, but being able to get into a cheap .300 blk setup is a nice option. SGAmmo had cases of the Remington UMC 220gr OTM come back in stock so I picked one up. |

I have the Octane 45 HD and the Saker 762. Pistons are generally not used on fixed barrels. Edit : See post below. You would go for a fixed barrel mount on your can to match your treads on your barrel. 7" AR15 in 9mm & 8.5" AR15 in 300 AAC Blackout
