Not sure what forum this belongs in, so I apologize if I am in the wrong one.
Looking to find out what computer program(s) I would need if I wanted to create my own targets? Even changing downloadable targets from the internet, what can I use? What do you guys use to make up your own targets? |

Quoted: I create my own targets using MS Paint. You can draw circles, any size, then print on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Best of all, they're free. I print them out at the office after 5 pm (ssshhh). LOL I used to use the department copier at school to make my targets for the summer before I left at the end of the semester. Still got about 6 reams worth of different targets from then ...ironically my last semester there they had an office meeting and said the copier was off limits unless we got approval. To bad they didn't change the password and our dept code was the same for the whole building . You gotta love the irony of a very liberal, liberal arts college supporting my shooting in a very non-direct way |

Why do want to print your own targets? Is it to create something unique? You can purchase Official NRA Targets for $3.59/100. I would think that this would less expensive than the paper and ink (and time) you'd use to print them yourself. I do download various targets from the internet. Just want to "customize" them to my liking. I think that red or yellow rings would be easier to see your hits on. Usually all the DL targets are black. Its very hard to see a 22 cal hole on a black target at 100-200 yards. Paper & ink wouldnt be an issue for me...not saying why. |

Sounds to me like I'm dealing with a bunch of THIEVES I have to admit that you guys stealing paper and ink from your employer or school is cheaper than $3.95/100. Shit... When I was a draftsman we had two laser plotters at lunch I would print 20 or so 24"X36" size targets with whatever I wanted on them. When I got to about 200 I stopped this was two years ago and I still have a huge stack left. heres an example... http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u240/DCMoney22/HillaryClintonforpres.jpg THAT, my friend, is truly frightening!!!!!! |

Even changing downloadable targets from the internet, what can I use? What do you guys use to make up your own targets? I use Adobe Illustrator to modify targets (mostly PDF files). I've even created some targets from scratch that way. Illustrator is pricy, so you could probably just use another vector illustration program. With |

I use a stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby. It works great and it is very cheap to use, as I use the backs of paper that is thrown away.
See here: Homemade Targets Of course, I do this because I use up dozens of targets every week. |
