Hello. I have a few spent 12g shells and i wanted to know if there was a way to crimp the top of them without any tools. I don't plan on reloading these i just wanted to have 2 or 3 to have on my desk or something. I already took the primers out of them.

it can probably be done with a little patience and a small dowel to work down the crimp leaves...you will need to fill the hull with some form of inert material as the leaves of the crimp will tend to fall inside, and need a final roll of the nose on a hard surface to get a taper...  a friend with a reloading machine would make a lot cleaner looking product... I make practice dummies by cutting the petals off one shot cup to replace the powder, and then load a shot cup with shot and crimp normally on a de primed hull to give me the weight and strength
