Is anyone familiar with how close the sizing is on these pants? Do they run tight or loose or pretty much dead on for the waist sizing? Considering getting a pair now that they are available in tropical but they are expensive and would hate to get them in what I think is my size only to find them too small and have to deal with the hassle of mail order return. |

We buy a lot of Cryes and one problem they seem to have is consistency: they tend to run sort of close to size/length but are not consistently "right on" and it can be either way.
If I had to pick a direction, it would be similar to what others have said: smallish in the waist, small in the thighs and a tad long. We frequently mix and match a batch to get everyone the best fit. |

They have been around for a while in one version or another. In fact , big Army issues a combat pant based off this design they do have merit. I have found the sizes to be off. I wear a 34 in jeans, and wear 36 in these- standard length works for me Same for me. L/L or 34; needed 36R or L in the Cryes depending on which day they were made. |

I wear 34 waist 32 inseam pants and went with a 34/Regular Crye G3 pants. Keep in mind when it comes to tactical clothing its better to go a little large than small as you want to be able to have a comfortable full range of motion. I think that would be obvious but with a whole nation of men wearing "skiny" jeans ya never know Also are the previous comments Crye pants were popular long before the boston bombing. Ive tried a handful of different brands of pants and can say hands down Crye is the best. People arent just buying them for the name. |

Theres a reason Crye is the most popular. There are worth the money, and loaded with features. Most people are not looking for the approval of the arfcom keyboard warriors. |

Those Crye pants got their start with US Navy Seals, then the FBI Hostage Rescue Team started using them. Once LEO and basement dwellers nationwide saw them overtly used by HRT in the Boston Bombing dragnet, every wannabe wanted a pair so they could be Tier 1 as well. http://36.media.tumblr.com/7b243adedd10b7b43b7da7df86665169/tumblr_mlj9dzODZL1qky228o1_1280.jpg It's not the pants that matters, it's what in the pants. What kind of pants do you wear for gunfighting and such? |

Wow, how did I know that someone would respond to my question this way. Frankly I am surprised that he did not reference my join date or low post count. For anyone that cares my original join date was in '07 but I did not log in for a quite a while and lost my login credentials with an old email address that I had not had for 6 years. I did not really care about my old one so generated a new one with my current email. So I am not exactly a newbie to Arfcom. It is because of tools like this that I rarely post anything because you get the snide references and comments. I could state that I am combat veteran of the first gulf war, that I have been shooting and into guns since I was 8 years old, had my first AR-15 before some of you may have been born, or maybe that my post count is so low because I spend most of my time working and shooting. Just Sayin'... |

For everyone else that replied to my question I would like to thank you for relating your experiences with these pants. I now feel comfortable ordering them. Just Sayin'... Sorry I couldn't offer more insight. One thing to note, it's usually the people who can't afford/won't budget for quality that go on bashing it. Tear down other people as posers to make themselves feel better because they can't come up with/part with the coin. |
