I've been out of touch with parts kit prices for a while and any help is appreciated. Is this a good price on a complete kit? www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=89867448 Thanks |

JMHO of course, but I wouldn't think of that as much of a deal. The kit in question has a "good to very good" bore. You would probably not be happy with anything less than "excellent". I wouldn't. Here is about as good a deal as you are going to find these days. Refinished kit, with "like new" bore and complete with compliance parts; $469 |

I agree completely with GySgtD. GunPartsGuy's kit are a terrific deal, and you'll spend much more assembling the appropriate parts--in the same condition--as one of GPG's kits. HOWEVER...the one you really want is this one GunPartsGuy's Para Kit SCHAAAWING! I love my Para. You will, too. |

I appreciate the advice. I'm not worried about the bore condition as I have a like new barrel left over from my last build. I can see where the difference in price gets me the compliance parts, refinishing and some assembly. Have to admit that collecting the parts, stripping the kit and cleaning it and assembling it is most of the fun for me. Not sure how I'm going to proceed but I appreciate the help. |
I'll have to agree with you there. I love cleaning the kits up and the sweet smell of cosmo (now I can't wait for my freakin Romy AK kit, thanks )As for kit prices, Imbels are still around and can be seen from around $220.00 to $250.00. Check the EE and over on the falfiles marketplace. They still pop up from time to time. You gotta be quick though. Also, entreprise still has kits for $249.99. Also, there seem to actually be a bunch of receivers out there. Check out GB. mfn |

I have a buddy who has two kits, one G1 and the other IMBEL that he is thinking of selling as a pair. Both come with new Penguin OD green furniture and were Tapco hand-picks from years ago. I think he wants about 600 for both but would have to check. I think there also might be an extra bolt or two also. Bores described as very good, no pitting. IM me for additional details if you are interested. Maybe the two of you can talk or he could send you some pics or something. Mike. |
