And I wanted to adapt something similar to that to my Mossberg 500 (pump). Obviously this will not work on a pump very well so I took this shell carrier by Safarriland:
I cut off the belt loop part, and stuck a piece of 3m Duralock on the receiver and it sticks 100%. I put it right behind the ejection port on my Mossberg so now I basically have an emergency (tac reload) 2 shell side saddle on the right side of my gun. The reloads are supper fast and it allows you to save the the ammo in the side saddle on the left to feed the magazine. Works out great. Give it a shot if you want.

I just Googled that. Interesting. That setup wouldn't work on any gun with a side saddle though (mine).
Mine looks like this. So far it works out great and used minimal hand movement from racking the pump to the rear then grabbing a shell and dropping it right into the chamber, you don't have to go over or under the receiver just drop it right in.

They have side saddles that mount on the ejection port side and do just that but with I think 4 shells and mounted more securely.

That logo is Mesa Tactical. I didn't see the product on their website. I only need two on that side anyways, not four. Trying to not make the weapon too heavy.

I have the eight on the left side and the four count on the breech side and it def. adds a ton of weight. Fun, but heavy.

Sounds like it. A small holder (like 2 shells) seemed like a convenient option because you can very quickly use the two on the receiver side for combat reloads and use the side saddle to feed the magazine.
