Is there anyone out there who is a reliable source for custom brass processing? I reload my rifle rounds but I absolutely LOATHE rifle brass processing. Until someone invents a <$1000 machine that will allow me to put a fired and tumbled piece of rifle brass at one end and have a ready to fire round come out the other with less than 10 pulls of the handle and no other manual intervention, its simply not worth the effort to do my own brass processing (except maybe for match rifle rounds). I don't need any anecdotes about how easy it is for you tor how you do it. I've been reloading for 10 years and I know definitively that rifle brass prep is not worth my time.
Anyway, I used to use Danny at http://www.custombrassprocessing.com/ but he has been very inconsistent in his ability to provide service. I need a reputable commercial custom brass processor (not some random Joe Sixpack with a Dillon 650 in his garage) to send my brass for processing. Ideally, I'd love to have them also prime my brass as well (yes you can ship primed brass via UPS without HAZMAT, Scharch/Top Brass used to ship primed brass to me via UPS all the time). It used to be worth it to trade in my brass to Scharch in exchange for their 100% primed brass but their pricing these days is absolutely insane and its better to simply pay to process my own brass. A local company https://www.pbrammo.com/ used to do it for me also but they are too busy right now doing their commercial reloads to do custom brass processing. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who will process my fired brass (polish, deprime, resize, trim, primer pocket swage, and possibly prime) for a single price per full flat rate USPS box including return shipping? |

Thousand dollars won't touch the machine of your desire. 1050s have been outfitted to start with A, end with Z for around two grand.
ReefRaider, Flamethrower and EGW are some forum members who enjoy a reputation of OR having offered services. dc. Top Brass pricing seems more than reasonable. More than I'd pay, but in the ball park for services and product I would expect to be compensated for. |

I don't think you're going to find anyone to provide the level of service you demand for the price you're willing to pay. I gladly pay Jeff Bartlett $25 per K just to do the primer pockets on the once fired brass that I purchase from him. I can easily handle the trimming on my 650. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=42&t=291773 http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-476917.html http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272453

| Danny at custombrassprocessing.com was charging $35/1000 plus shipping for both 5.56 and .308, and he didn't require and pre-sorting. That sounds like a fair price to me. He's out of business for health reasons, not because he was charging too little. Like i said, I'd be willing to pay as much as $55/1000 but that better include some extras and should not require me to sort my brass by headstamp. |

Quoted: I sure wouldnt do it for $55-1000, I charge $100-1000 for processing the 308 brass I sell I do not offer brass processing as a service, just on the brass I sell I wouldn't touch it for $55/1000 as a business arrangement. Regardless of the hardware involved there is a considerable bit of labor/time involved in fully processing 1000 rounds of brass. If I'm fortunate enough to have automated or semi-automated processing hardware I'm damn sure not foolish enough to wear it out for free. |

A little off topic, but I hope Danny's health problems aren't serious. I dealt with him a few times and he's a genuine good guy.
A couple year back, I sent him around 1800pc of .223 LC brass and he sent me back around $5 cash back with my brass because my scale was off and I overpaid him for his processing. |

In the future, take questions like this (brass processing) to the EE.
