Is there any one that will custom cut me some soft armor to fit a Tactical Tailor Plate Carrier?

Several companies make or sell "Plate Backers" - chunks of kevlar that are a little bigger than steel or ceramic In Conjunction With (ICW) plates  that aren't full vests.

You go with one that's a little bigger than your plate - ie a 10x12 for an 8x10 plate. That way the plate gets the armor it needs to meet it's NIJ spec, and you don't get as much impact passed through to you.

And of course, if all you're looking for is Level IIIA soft armor for now, they're perfect.

There are some who sell plate backers in the EE as well, IIRC

I remember years ago I saw an add in Shotgun News where you could buy 12"x12'" sheets of kevlar and make stuff yourself. It was like $60 a sheet. I saved the add thinking that may come in handy.

never did get any.
