I have acquired a DSA Para FAL. It seems like a well built rifle but I am not a fan of the folding stock. Seeing as how I don't know much about FALs, does anyone know what parts it would take to switch to a fixed stock?

Unfortunately its not like an AR.  The bolt is different. The top cover is different. The lower reciever is different.  You'd probably be better off selling the para and getting a fixed stock gun.

For whats its worth, I have both.  The para stays folded in an "oh crap bag".  The fixed stock gun is better all around.

Why not sell it and buy a fixed-stock FAL, then? That's what I would do in your situation.

What is it about the folding stock you don't like? That design is actually one of the most stable 'folders' ever designed, at first they are very stiff to into/out of action but will loosen with time and use. As stated the conversion isn't just a simple buttstock swap. Most Para sights are not regulated very well and tend to shoot low, but get a front sight tool designed for it and crank it down, also you can use the 250 setting on the rear, I believe you can also find taller rear sights out there.
I'd hang onto it for awhile, given the political climate you may find that the Para may be worth much more than the fixed model in the near future. Hope things don't work out that way, but you've lost nothing by waiting a bit.
Fire it and get used to it's idiosyncrasies, you may well change you're mind.

I'd be willing to trade components if you'd be interested.

Yep, I'll trade you straight across, what you need to make it a regular buttstock and I get the folder.

Bolt is exactly the same.  The carrier is different.  OP can buy a complete 50.00 lower and swap only the lower on a DSA SA58 built by DSA.  IF the top cover is stand off cut/surplus he will also need a DSA para top cover.  Using the para recoil assembly will work fine with a 50.00 lower.  Then he can swap back and forth.

Total cost would be $500 using all new DSA parts.  Can be done on the cheap for under $200 with surplus parts.

Also remeber that you will probably need a para rear sight or a different height front sight post.  I have a Para and a fixed lower, tried everything to get the fixed stock lower sighted in but need the para sight.

All you need is a complete lower and a bolt carrier that has the rat tail.
