I'd go DSA, as it would be tough to build one as good for the same money, and you wouldn't have the lifetime warranty. Some suggestions: Talk to DSA on the phone, and have them make the following changes: Have them remove the OEM metal handguards and install plastic ones (much cooler). Swap out the OEM rear aperture for a short, Belgian hooded match sight aperture. Swap out the OEM bipod for the Quick-release version. This stuff will cost a little extra at time of purchase, but a LOT later after you decide you want the above items. The DSA scope mount is excellent, as is the TAPCO one. You'll eventually want one or the other. DSA also sells a cheek pad that straps to the buttstock which moves your cheek UP (not sideways) in order to use a scope with see-through rings. Quickly removeable so's to use iron sights. Consider getting an L1A1 safety/selector. Takes a little easy fitting to work, but is WAY more ergonomic than the OEM small button. Buy a pistol grip cleaning kit. 2 minutes work with the Dremel will get it to fit in the PG. Very slick. Don't forget common FAL tools, cleaning kit, and common spare parts. The FAL phone rep will discuss it with you. IM me if you have any more Q's. |
