Anybody have any experience with them? How is the barrel held in the receiver? I need to disassemble one and I figured I'd ask before leaping.

I had one in the late 80s. It has a threaded barrel due to the piston. I am sure the shorter version (K1) with the wire stock has the barrel nut and this gun is DI like an AR-15.
