I'm on the tail end of cleaning up the mess after being rear ended in May and thought it would only be fitting to spend some of the insurance mess on a dash cam. I'd like to be able to use it for other fun stuff though and get the most for my money. Has anyone played with the Go Pro and Contour and have an opinion for either one?
Its main use will be for a dash cam, but playing in the pool or strapping it to the rifle will happen to. |

I like the Contour Roam for the motorcycle and shooting matches, mount it on the helmet, bike rail and muffs.
The GoPro has better sound out of the box because the case blocks wind noise, but it is a lot bulkier with the mounting style. You would probably be better served in the dashcam role with a police-style closed circuit SSD system with a remote camera. That way you wouldn't be constantly charging and formatting. |
