Primary host will be a 12" .300. I was initially going with the SDN6 but when I can get the SD and stamp for less than the cost of just the SDN6 I'm really leaning toward the SD. This is my first can and most of the ones I've shot have been gemtech or Surefire so no real experience with either of the models I'm looking at. Thoughts? I've got to keep somewhat of a budget because I still have to get an aimpoint and scout light for this upper.

I went with the sdn6. I really like it and it works well. No experience with the other but I have zero regrets.

If you go with the SD I would drop your barrel length down to 8.5 inches to reduce total weight and length of the upper. Both are solid cans and will sound excellent on the blackout.

The 762SD meters better than the SDN6 and is what, an inch and a half longer? Between the savings and the suppression, I went with the SD- because that's what was important to me. Then again for me it was primarily for 308, not 300.

Here is a $580 SDN6, though... I paid ~$750 with stamp for my 762SD a while back so you're not talking about a lot of difference.

I can't give you any experience shooting it since I'm still waiting on the stamp, but the price difference and better suppression was enough for me to get the SD and deal with the longer, heavier can.

It's been out of stock for a few days.

I have the 762-sdn-6 which I love but if I was doing it again(for the price) is get 2 sd's. If you strictly need one can I'd go with the 6 though.

I like AAC. I would go with the SND6. But then again I am currently infatuated with Griffin Armament Recce 5 and 7. Check out the Recce 7 before you buy. That mount system is sick. I'm in no way affiliated with them. I own AAC 556SD and Allen Eng AEM5.

For dedicated 300 BLK, I'm holding off to see how well the Surefire SOCOM 300SPS performs. Going to pay for it though.

I've been running an AAC SDN 6 for about two years now on a 16" Ar, .223. It has been excellent in every way. Good suppression and very reliable- no mounting issues etc...it just works. I have also used it on a couple of AKs and even on an HK91.

I have heard-like 20 minutes ago, that they just did a HUGE reduction in dealer cost on the SDN's.....My local dealer sells to me at his cost......I'm buying another one tomorrow!

Ever since I got out and tested my aem5 Im done with fancy stuff.   my socom and spr/m4 are really great cans but appreciate the beauty of simplicity also.  Recce 5 is my next.

Tell me more.

Sounds logical if they are going to close it out and bring out something new.  Would buy another also.

X2. I have AAC mounts on two guns that I've been swapping the same suppressor. It would be awesome to have a 1:1 ratio.

All I can say is what I was told. Dealer called me and said his latest shipment of AAC stuff had several severely discounted cans and the SDN 6 was included. Not only are the cans discounted but he said the SDN came with a free T51 mount. I'm going to buy one tomorrow and I'll let you know exactly what the dealer cost is currently.....

See how much he'd sell one to another Texan.

My dealer got my 762-SD in a couple weeks ago. It had a free mount in it. He said he's never seen that.  Checked an sdn6 and same thing. Maybe it's normal now?

They have to do something to compete.

Seems like they are getting their ass kicked by Silencerco.

I picked up a 762SD today. No free mount. Wasn't expecting one, though, either.

Wonder if they are doing what they did with the TiRANT 9's last year.  Blowing them out to clear inventory due to the move.  I got some great cans for a good price last year.  I don't need any more 762 cans, but if the price is right I could be tempted........

I bet the debate on the m4-2000, the possible discount on the sdn, and the free mount means they are getting rid of the 51t.

I have the 7.62sd and its a great can for 300blk. I got to mount the Sdn6 and the 7.62sd to my 8.5 inch 300blk at my LGS. I couldn't tell a difference in weight or length so the cheaper 7.62sd was the winner for me. I did have problems with the 51t mount, can got stuck on the mount and I stripped the teeth on the can's latch removing it. AAC took care of the problem but I'm not going to buy another 51t mount/suppressor.

Honestly had I known how easy it was to build a form1 can I would have never bought the AAC. For 300blk subs I think a form1 can would be perfect.

With sales tax I paid about $600 for my new SDN6. I thought that was very reasonable with the mount included, certainly less than I paid for my original one .

I've got three AAC cans but I'm debating on ever doing business with them again. Their CS is sucking pretty hard, I hope it's just issues with the move and getting their feet back on the ground.

Nick took care of me when my can got stuck on 51t mount.
