I have a question regarding my lee 3 die .223 set. I somehow managed to break the the decapping pin on my full length sizing die.  Now that die will size the case but not punch out the spent primer. However when I run the case fully through the neck sizing die it, the decapping rod in that die punches out the primer. My question is this.... Is the full length sizer still sizing the cases properly if the decapping pin in that die snapped off? It appears to be the correct dimensions, and the neck sizing die rod punches out the primer.

Is this ok to do? I guess I'm confused about the separate purposes of the decapping pin in the full length sizer, vs the decapping rod in the neck sizer. I would just go ahead and order a few replacement pins, but they appear to be back ordered everywhere at the moment. Thanks.

Your dies are the same but different.

Same: Either will decap and expand the neck to set neck tension.

Different: Full Length size die sizes the case body and neck.

Neck size die only sizes the neck. Body of case not touched.
