Anyone seen/used one of these? Guy over on lightfighter sent the link to me. 69.49.177.115/product_p/rflmn%20kit%20acu%20fc.htm |
| Me personally, I dont like it. It seems very thin and not at all durrable, and I find it to be very uncomfertable in wearing. It is deffinitly a product of the lowest bidder as several that we ordered have come in with some major production flaws. To be honest I really dont have anything positive to say about the entire product. |
| After reading and responding to this thread I looked at one of my coworkers gear and I saw that it had been made by Eagle and seems to be well made. My only question is why the AF felt a need to come up with a set of web gear for cops? Why not just buy some stuff already out on the market and thats proven? |
I'd like to know who these sets have been made by. |
I kind-of hate to say it, because I have worked alot with the Security Forces, but they are really snobbish (not all of them but quite a few) when it comes to their job. When I was in the Ghan the last time, we had to go off base, so I went to get additional ammo (more than 2 rifle & 2 pistol mags), and I was met with the question "What do you need all that for, it's not like you are a cop". Most SF squadrons I have seen or worked with required their folks to have a uniform uniform, so they all looked the same. After all, it would make too much sence to allow their people to get what they want. |
Cops are weird. They might be viewed as being snobbish because everyone else in the AF looks down upon them. You think cops are shitty to other AF personnel? Try being a cop and dealing with so many A type personalities on a daily basis. I wouldn't mind it so much if many of them could back up their bullshit, but in reality many cops are paper tigers and paper heroes. I could go on and on about how some cops out there have inflated egos but I won't bore anyone. I know its the military and all and they want everyone and everything to look alike but that shit drove me crazy. I found after a few years what worked for me and stuck with it. I was lucky to be in units that allowed some individualization but there were times where I got bitched at by the Ops Officer because he didn't like where my cuffs were. I always made my guys even if they didnt have the same type gear at least have stuff in the same approximate location if we needed to get to it. Darkstar117, you were smart for wanting more ammo. From the sounds of your coworkers they seem quite complacent. |
Actually, I am one of the SF's biggest defenders. I have been an auggey 3 times, and fully understand the bullshit you guys go through. Yeah, most of my coworkers were clueless when it came to outside the wire ops. Hell, out of seven people on one trip only three had their IFAKS, and two had what I would call an adaquate supply of ammo (210 rounds or more). |
I know Eagle and LBT are contractors. |
