Does anyone use the Delta P muzzle device adapter or suppressor? I have bought a 762SD for my Scout, just waiting on the stamp. AAC does not make, and has no plans to make a break threaded for the M1A threads. I'm not a huge fan of the blackout, so I have been looking around just in case I found a better option. (not like I don't have the time waiting for the stamp anyway)
I found this: http://deltapdesign.com/products.html That adapter is threaded AR10 style so I could put an AR10 break on the end of my rifle, and retain the factory sight position. I like SEI stuff, but would prefer to keep the factory sight position if possible. This seems too good to be true, so I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has used them. Money's already spent on the can, I am happy with the purchase. Only exploring options. What do you think? |

I run some Gemtech cans and dr.dieter advised me to stay away from adapters because a series of devices (including the barrel threads) each with its slight intolerance potentially compounds the intolerance range of the combined "stack" to where you risk a can strike.
In your case you may consider threading your M1A barrel 5/8x24 and have the "smith" semi-permanantly attach AAC's flash hider w/ built-in suppressor quick-disconnect directly to the barrel. I think you may be surprised that cost may be comparable to what you'd pay for the adapter you asked about in your OP. I'm not familiar enough with what options you have for front sight repositioning after the threading which you may only need half inch of the front barrel tip threaded. |

I bought one of them for my supermatch and it seems like it's very tight and secure. I can vouch for the quality and fit of the thing but unfortunately I'm still waiting for my can as well. I've got a YHM adapter on mine so it's really hard to say how concentric things are from looking at that setup.
As far as I know, this is the only option for retaining your original sight configuration on a standard M-14 type. |
