So,
First off I'm wondering if anyone has tested densglass fiberglass panels for bullet resistance... I have in my master suite a large master bath, the walls are just ready to get finished... I'm putting up stone one the roll in shower area, it's already got two layers of densglass there... Was updating some home defense plans and this room when looking on the cad in 3d has some advantages... The room only has a very small cross section that would sustain any projectiles...there is a 4story chimney that is brick/red brick that is covering 8' of the exterior of this room, plus it's fairly tucked away between some major 8wide gerter trusses on each side as well...that's 8 solid engineered 2" thick trusses that are solid on this area...carries the weight of the central core of the houses where the connect...my house is a rather odd design, like two houses with a 20' wide bridge between them... Anyhow, im looking at maybe adding some "insurance" in this room... I already have a full walk in vault but that is two levels away...and I have plenty of weapons in my master suite... So, my thought was even to lay up either three layers or so of densglass or even a layer of Kevlar in between as well... I'll take some densglass I've got laying around and can make a test piece...if noone has done it yet... Bret |
