I just got fingerprinted for a Form 1 SBR.

My local police dept. has and prefers to use the digital "ink free" fingerprinting, but I couldn't find any info for them and how to send the prints to BATFE/NFA.

Does BATFE accept the digital scans in place of the fingerprint cards?

Thanks.

The local LE department should be able to print those digital prints onto your fingerprint card with the ATF ORI

Ah....

They don't have the printer yet....they wanted to send them electronically.

Thanks.

No, there's no way to do that. ATF's not going to make things convenient. You'll have to get printed somewhere else, or get them to use ink.

my last F4 was sent in with scanned ink free prints .. and it even had the wrong ORI code.  I squawked and asked them to place the NFA ORI code in place and was told that the 2nd in command who handles NFA paperwork spoke with Rob Howard directly and that print cards had to be manually entered in the process and an incorrect ORI code was unimportant.

needless to say my F4 came through just fine!

Our local "FAST" don't have a printer either....also i get my FD258 from the PD and leave ORI blank and has never been a problem. So your comment explains that.

I'm waiting on a F4 right now that has my fingerprint card with my inkless fingerprints and the wrong ORI.  Hopefully I'll be fine.

They inked me & used the right cards (I hope––I got them from the .gov site) and just did things the inky black way....
