Hey guys! I saw some rifles in a "Mar-Pat" pattern in this section and was wondering where I could get some templates at. Thanks.

You can buy them directly from Bulldogarms, or you can always make your own.

a good trick to get your paper stencils to "stick" to your piece is to mist the back with water, just press into place, then dab off the excess with a paper towel (lint free better).

Something that has worked really well for me is taping painters tape on a sheet of wax paper, glue the stencil on the tape (plain ol' elmers glue), and then cut out the stencil.

for quick lettering, I use craft punches into the sticky side of post-it notes.  Works well for dragon, flowers, bears, butterflies, leaves, etc... details too.  come to think of it, a dot or square punches layed out in a pattern has the potential for an interesting flectarn or digital look.  Maybe even painter's tape cut into 1" squares.  Trying to think our side the box....

I tried some digi yesterday on a piece of cardboard.  I used some graph paper with a 1/4" grid.  It actually turned out pretty good except I felt like the grid pattern was too big.

I made some graph paper in excel and made the boxes right at 1/8" x 1/8".  THat looked better to me but I was wondering how big the pixels are on the patterns supplied by Duracoat and Bulldog.

Stick, how big are the individual pixels on your patterns that you displayed?

Thanks

I did that a few years ago, so I'm not sure.  Its whatever size standard graph paper comes in.  Quarter inch?

Its graph paper with duct tape on it.

I narrowed down my options and finally am gonna go with the extreme digital pattern that bulldogarms has, I'm only wantin to do the rifle in 2 tone, so just the digital striping would look good to me.

In the photo the striping goes diagonal quite a lot, and I'd rather it go more verticle on this rifle so question I have about digital is do you think it matters much if the top straight edges of the pattern are horizontal along the rifle or not? If I straightend the precut striping more verticle they wouldn't be.

Hey, I havent seen that pic of my FAL in a long time.

It only has to look good to you. As long as your happy with the colors and or pattern thats all that counts.

Here is a MARPAT done with Bulldog templates on a US Optics SN4:
(the photo program was not set right so the light gray looks blue for some reason)
