| I have been loading only Black Powder cartridge, which is done by volume and not weight, so I don't have a scale. I am ready to move on to smokeless cartridge reloading and was considering a digital scale. I don't want a $250+ scale with dispenser, just a good reliable digital scale. Lyman, RCBS, Hornady, Cabela's or Scheel's branded scale???? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |
| I have the Dillon Determinator also, w/o an auto feed or trickled. It can be finicky at times, needing multiple re-zeroing, but its still much faster and more accurate than any balance beam I've used. I've had this for about 10 years and have weighed many thousands of charges, and considering that I do all my loading in my cellar which is usually but not always well climate controlled I cannot blame its sometime finicky behavior on the machine. |

I recently purchased a RCBS Rangemaster 750. It’s been performing flawlessly. I would suggest however that you get a set of calibrated weights to check your scale with. With only one scale, and a digital one at that, it will be hard to verify that the scale is working properly without a set of check weights. Just my $0.02 worth. |
