I am building a RRA 10.5 sbr with Magpul milspec buffer tube.

What are the pros and cons of the heavy v. standard?

Thanks in advance

If you are experiencng failures to fully extract and eject, you MIGHT need a heavy buffer.
If your full auto is running at a higher rate of fire than you desire, you MIGHT need a heavy buffer.
Run it and see.

No, the Carbine gas system and buffer were optimized for the Colt Commando's 10" barrel.  Dwell is longer on 14.5" and 16" barrel, which is why a heavier buffer helps those platforms.

Nevermind, I was thinking 16" barrels.

I much prefer heavier buffers with all barrel lengths. I would get at least an H1 buffer. But I run 9mm buffers in mine. From my experiences heavier buffers help with reliability and gives a better felt recoil.
