I don't want to deal with removal of this LaRue handguard. Would it be possible to spray this handguard and barrel as is? Or any recommendations would be appreciated. Daryn |
| The handguard is very easy to remove, but if you really want to leave it there it shouldn't be a problem. You'll obviously have overspray on the barrel. That can be reduced by slipping something into the handguard to block it from the barrel. Some heavy stock paper or some thin carboard should by thin enough to fit but thick enough that it won't get soggy from a little wet paint. |

Prep work is 95% of getting a top quality job. You only get out of it what you put into it. Looks like you have a few hard earned dollars into building that rifle up and now at the very last you want to cut corners. If it is worth doing it is worth doing right. Otherwise blindfold yourself and hit it with some rattle cans for that custom look. Don't forget to spray it on the hood of your wife's car, it will clean up OK with some brake cleaner. (NOTE: the blindfold and the hood comment is a poor joke, do not attempt, you'll only waste paint on the cat and ruin dinner for the night when your wife see's her car. If you do attempt to complete this you do so at your own risk of eating cold food, if you eat at all and risk a bad back from sleeping in the bed of your pick up after she kicks you out. Now you have to pawn an ugly gun for cash for a hotel room.) |
