Do I need to blast my FAL lower before I duracoat it? Or can I just use there degreaser and sand it? The reason I ask is that I don't have any access to a blast cabinet.

You would be better off blasting it, but you might be able to sand it with 220 or coarser paper.  Just make sure you rough it up pretty good and get all the old finish off.

Duracoat site says you dont need to blast the finish, just degrease it good, would'nt hurt though.

You dont want to blast it smooth. DuraCoat will stick to a rough surface better. Degrease it and sand it on the old finnish high spots and clean it good (alcohol works good) and when it's dry shoot it. You'll be surprised how good it will look. @ or 3 thin coats and ...
