this one is just over 6" long and made from W2 tool steel.  W2 takes a great acid etch, so we gave it our Relic finish and you can just see the hint of a hamon from edge quenching.  the handle is layered copper and (i think) bronze wire we had lying around.  we are doing several of our designs in a post apocalyptic style, mainly just for shits and giggles.  and here is one of the Dozers.

It's hard to take that knife seriously when that lion bead is on there.

Love the knife. Put a hammered aluminum or copper bead on there and it will look better than the lion.

I like it.

While, yes, a more "trendy" bead would look "better", I'm guessing that's not the aesthetic that was being aimed for.

Even the bead lends to the post-apocalyptic feel. I mean, the kind of bead most modern knife-aficionados would appreciate generally ain't cheap or something commonly found, as-is, in an everyday setting.

This bead seems more like a survivor's trinket. Something to remind them of their past, a piece from their lost child's play jewelry, or something they simply found amidst the rubble that tickled their fancy.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way, I like it.

yeah, the bead is something that kinda stuck after i used a few on some knives a few years ago.  my business name is Liontribe Designs and i added a few little lion beads here and there along with some of the more traditional type beads seen on custom knives.  and no, you will never see an corny skull beads from me.  been done to death and always looked a little silly to me.  i started getting complaints from customers when they didn't get a lion bead of some sort, so they just sorta stuck.  haven't take the time or money to have custom beads made yet.  to me that just drives the price up higher for the customer.  i try to keep my prices as low as possible for my clientele.  so there is the not so long, sorted story.  honestly, i don't care too much for this particular style of bead either.  i prefer a wood, bone or a metal piece for the lanyard, but my buyers seem to like them.

No, you're 100% spot on. It suggests some kind of screwed-up backstory, which makes me expect this knife to be part of a really detailed cosplay costume or something.

Right.

Scrap the whole design. Anything that isn't traditional wood or tactical polymers is just STUPID.
