Hi All,
Just received my E4 stock, and while assembling my rifle onto it I noticed that the bolt hold open did not release the bolt when the a) mag was removed and
the b) bolt hold open depressed.  I tore it down several times (sore thumb) and it does not seem to have any problems, it just doesn't lower the latch far enough
to allow the bolt to ride over it.

My STG556 stock and BHO did not have any problems like this.

Any suggestions?

thanks,
CaliRN

The tab on the back side of the bolt release may not be sitting on top of its mating tab on the actual BHO.

Try this: Remove your hammer pack.
while the hammer pack is out, press down on the LOWER part of the bolt release lever while re-inserting the hammer pack.

If this doesn't work, try swapping in the hammer pack from your STG stock.

If it STILL won't work, you may have either a defective bolt release and/or defective stock

thanks for the tip.  I did try that, and suspect that it is the plastic bolt release.  Will contact MSAR and see
if they can send me out one.

thanks again,

SOLUTION FOUND
While looking at the plastic bolt release it was too short, so I built up a pad with JB weld, let it cook off overnight and filed it
down, and after a bit of trial and effort the bolt release works like it should.  Will contact MSAR for a replacement.

thanks,
