So after my debacle getting my E4 which I posted on a few weeks ago I finally got the right rifle but then with myself and then the wife getting sick, I just got out to the range today finally. Since I was going alone and didn't have a spotting scope but just a low power set of binoculars I did not zero my BUIS but I did get my aimpoint set. All told I shot just shy of 200 rounds with one problem on my second round of the day. I don't know if I just wasn't pulling the stock in tight enough or what but after ejecting the first round the second didn't feed properly and the case bent at the neck and the bolt scratched into the brass a little. I popped the mag out, ejected the round, checked that everything was alright and went right back to shooting, making sure to tighten up my grip since I was still adapting from the ARs that I am more used to. By the end of the day I was completely chewing the center out of the target at 50 yards with no other incidents and I am one hundred percent confident that the one issue I had was my error because the rifle performed flawlessly. I have always loved the AUG and AUG pattern rifles and now, having finally bought and shot my very own, I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the report.  Where did you buy it and how much?

I picked it up at a local shop here in the Katy/Houston area called Fountain, right around $2000 with tax.

Every HK pistol I have owned jammed on just the 2nd round I fed it, and ran flawlessly afterwards.

I think between a missed spot of factory lube, or a manufacturing burr,  having the very first round the gun feeds automatically be a jam, doesn't bother me at all.

Don't mean to knock you around brother, but next time do some research and shop around. I have been seeing E4s going for 1600.00 or so lately.

It was the tax that killed me on it, tacked on a couple hundred cause I couldn't be patient and wait for a better price to come along. Would it have been nice? Hell yeah, more money for ammo. Do I regret my choice? Not for a second, but thanks for the advice, normally I do try to check around more.
